Convert an existing hospital patient wing into an aesthetically pleasing MRI suite. The preset equipment delivery date created an abbreviated construction schedule.
Working together the construction team identified potential obstacles to meeting the MRI equipment delivery date. Temporary measures were implemented to accommodate long lead time items that did not comply with construction schedule. Weekly construction meetings between owner, contractor and subcontractors created an open line of communication throughout project. The meetings also served as a creative environment, where the team was able to share design ideas and suggestions.
The new MRI suite was completed and approved by IDPH on time and within the original budget. An automatic soundproof door and LED lighting and landscape murals are just some of the design upgrades that were implemented to create a state of the art facility. The new MRI suite has received rave review from patients and made their testing experience, pleasant.
